What God Is Really Like

1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

Jesus came to reveal God to us. He has given us the clearest picture of what God is really like and how God would interact with us. Because of Jesus, we can know God, the only one who is truly genuine. Because we are in Christ, we can share a special bond with the Father and find a new quality of life in him. This is lasting life that won't end when our bodies die. This is eternal life that begins now (John 5:24), as we walk with him each day, and extends forever (John 3:16-17, 10:25-26). For the eternal and transcendent God to make himself known to us is grace. For him to make himself known to us in Jesus is salvation!

Holy and awesome Father, I know that I will enjoy your presence forever because my life is joined to you through Jesus. I love you for all you have done for me and the terrible price you paid to redeem me from my sins. I love you for creating me and having a plan for my life when no one else knew I was even conceived. Most of all, I love you for being God and choosing to be the kind of Father who wants his children to know and love him. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Colossians 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 AND YE ARE COMPLETE IN HIM, which is the head of all principality and power:
